CoCIS has invited Ir. Prof. Dr. Leong Wai Yie to deliver a General Lecture
On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, the Control and Computational Intelligent System (CoCIS) research group held a public lecture with the theme: Utilization and Development of IoT in Industry 4.0. The guest lecturer who presented the material was Ir. Prof. Dr. Leong Wai Yie from INTI International University and Colleges.
During the public lecture, Ir. Prof. Dr. Leong Wai Yie described how the world has undergone changes from Industry 1.0 to the current Industry 4.0. These changes have also influenced technological advancements, including the utilization of the Internet of Things (IoT). Ir. Prof. Dr. Leong Wai Yie presented an example of such change in the form of smart houses, which can now be operated through voice recognition commands.
Throughout the event, the participants showed great enthusiasm by posing questions to the speaker. They inquired about IoT and its impact on regulations, particularly regarding the use of personal data and the potential replacement of jobs with technology. In appreciation of the students’ questions, the CoCIS research group rewarded the participants.
The public lecture concluded at 11:30 AM local time, highlighting that IoT’s development is extensive and significantly affects human life. People must be prepared for the upcoming revolution in Industry 5.0.
